Privacy
Your privacy, plainly.
What Palmsie collects, why, who it's shared with, and how to control it — in the same plain language we use everywhere else on this site.
Effective September 24, 2026
Who this is
This policy covers palmsie.com and the Palmsie apps (together, “Palmsie”). It explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies whether you sign in or shop as a guest.
Information we collect
What you give us directly
- Account information — your email address, when you sign in.
- Photos you share — a photo of your room, or a style-inspiration photo, when you choose to add one to a request. The first photo you ever add on a device asks for your explicit agreement before it leaves that device.
- What you ask Palmsie for — your messages, requests, and follow-up answers.
- Your shopping preferences — the Home, Style, Gifts, and Travel profiles you build (rooms, sizes, tastes, people you're shopping for), and items you tell us you already own so we don't suggest duplicates.
What we collect as you use Palmsie
- Products you view, save, add to a board, or react to, and the searches and recommendations that come out of that — used to make Palmsie's suggestions more relevant to you.
- Your cart and order history.
- A private session identifier stored in a cookie, so your cart and conversation stay yours across visits. See Cookies below.
What we don't collect
Palmsie never stores your full payment card number. When you check out, our payment processor (Stripe) handles that directly — see Payments below. Palmsie also doesn't use third-party advertising trackers, and photos you share are never used to generate a likeness of you.
How we use this information
- To find, evaluate, and present products that answer what you asked for.
- To generate the AI-styled scenes and room restyles you request — placing real products, faithfully, in a photo or setting.
- To remember your preferences, saved items, and past requests across visits.
- To process your orders and get them to the right merchant.
- To keep Palmsie secure, and to prevent abuse of guest allowances.
- To improve Palmsie's recommendations over time, based on how you respond to them.
AI processing
Answering a request and generating a scene involves sending the relevant text and images to AI providers that process them on our behalf, under contract, only for that purpose:
- OpenAI — understanding your request and describing what a generated scene shows.
- Fal.ai — generating the AI-styled room scenes and restyles themselves.
- Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — matching a photo you share to visually similar products.
- DataForSEO — searching and reading current product listings and pricing.
A generated scene is always disclosed as AI-styled. Nothing here is used to build an advertising profile of you.
Merchants and payments
Palmsie surfaces products from independent merchants. When you buy something, we share what that merchant needs to fulfill your order (your shipping details and the items purchased) — never more. The merchant becomes responsible for that order under their own privacy practices.
Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Palmsie never sees or stores your full card number; Stripe's own privacy policy covers how they handle it.
Sharing
We share information only as described in this policy: with the AI providers who process requests on our behalf, with the merchant fulfilling your order, with Stripe to process payment, and with the infrastructure providers who host Palmsie (currently Supabase for our database and Vercel for hosting). We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
- A generated scene or restyle, and the photo behind it, is kept for 30 days for a guest, or 90 days if you're signed in, then deleted automatically.
- Order and payment records are kept as long as the law requires (for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes) even after an account is deleted — see below.
- Everything else is kept for as long as your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
Cookies
Palmsie sets one essential cookie to identify your session, so your cart and conversation stay attached to you across visits — whether or not you sign in. It isn't used for advertising, and Palmsie doesn't load third-party analytics or ad-tracking scripts.
Your choices
- Access or correct your information by asking us — see Contact below.
- Delete your account by writing to us; we'll remove your personal information — your requests, photos, saved profiles, and search history — in one pass. If you have order or payment records we're required to keep, your identity is detached from them rather than the records being kept intact.
- Tell Palmsie you already own something, so it's never suggested to you again — this is built into how you use the product.
Children
Palmsie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Security
Photos, messages, and account data are kept in access-controlled storage, and connections to Palmsie are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we design Palmsie to keep what's yours private to you by default.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
